Webcash Electronic Payment Services: Money Still Exchanges Hands, Just Without Ever Touching a Palm

Buying and selling products or services online just got a whole lot easier. Using Webcash, you can pay for purchases and receive money owed to you without ever touching an actual green dollar bill. Of course, not touching it might take some of the fun out of getting paid, but it's still your money just the same. It's virtual money.

So, you're saying to yourself right about now, "How is this Webcash feat performed?" A variety of online payment services have sprung up to make virtual payment a reality (no pun intended).

If you need to pay someone or someone needs to pay you all you need to know is their Webcash ID. If someone want to send you money through Webcash but you're not currently a member, no problem. You simply register (which is always free) and use it to start your own online shopping spree.

As you can see, buying and selling online no longer requires you to have a merchant account, which levels the playing field for home based businesses to accept online payments. Many electronic shopping carts are starting to implement Webcash as a payment option when checking out of online stores.

Now there's no excuse for not paying your debts on time. You may not be able to touch it, but believe me, "virtual money" is just as good as the real thing. Being paid electronically might not feel the same as someone placing "cold hard cash" in the palm of your hand, but it's still there: you just won't have to wash your hands as often.

New Or Used Sports Equipment?

Everyone has a sport. Some people are into team sports, others are into individual sports. Each sport has its own rules and regulations, and each sport requires its own set of equipment. Whether it is football, basketball, tennis, or golf, you'll be required to invest in equipment that is particular to the sport. This sports equipment might be balls, racquets, bats, clubs, or specific clothing, but also includes safety items and peripheral items, such as clothes and hats.

New or used sports equipment?

Before purchasing your sports equipment it is a good idea to consider a few questions.

1. How long have you been playing the sport?
2. How long do you plan on playing the sport?
3. What level (amateur or professional) do you seek to achieve?

Answering these questions honesty, will help you make the right decision about purchasing sports equipment. If you are starting out in a sport and the equipment is expensive then it could be a good idea to consider purchasing used equipment: it is a cheaper investment. If you aren't sure whether the sport will suit you, then choose to purchase used equipment first. If you wish to stay at amateur level, playing the sport purely as a hobby, then you may never need to buy new equipment at all.

On the other hand if you've made a complete commitment to the sport of your choice, or if you are now getting more serious, shopping for new and state-of-the-art equipment can add a new dimension to your playing game.

Buying new and used sports equipment online

Whatever the case, a good place to find and purchase new and used equipment is online. The Internet is full of stores that stock sporting goods and equipment for all levels and all budgets.

There are two excellent ways to find new and used equipment online. Try search within local community forum or local trading site. On these sites you simply search for the item you want and the search will yield results bringing you into contact with individuals and companies that sell the type of sporting equipment that you seek.

Virtual payment system, anyone?

WEBCASH, a membership-free prepaid virtual payment system, was recently launched by WebOnline Dot Com Sdn Bhd. It allows subscribers to conduct online transactions offered by any participating e-commerce Web portal.

Webcash is an easy-to-use service and employs a prepaid method with the ability to top up via the Internet, card, voice call, and short message service/multimedia messaging service.

WebOnline is targeting 10 per cent of the registered 3.5 million local Internet service protocol users. According to WebOnline Dot Com's chairman Datuk Bhuhpat Rai M. Premji, the public can register their Webcash account online for free. Merchants will bear the transaction costs.

Bhupat adds that with Webcash, parents can let their children purchase things online within the credit allocated in their account. They can monitor their children's transaction with the transaction history. Values as low as RM10 can be loaded into a Webcash account, and amounts can also be transferred among account holders.

WebOnline has also incorporated voice over Internet protocol (PC-to-PC and PC-to-phone) capability for Webcash account holders called Space Webcash. They just need to download and install the software into their PC.

Calls to other Webcash members are free while calls to cell phones and landlines are charged at a discounted rate.

WebOnline Dot Com's chief executive officer Manirajah Kulanthavelu says that Webcash services utilises 128 bits Secure Socket Layer and a soft token system which requires a user to enter the password and a randomly generated pictured-text.

In the event a user's account has been hacked into, the user needs to open a complaint ticket online and stop the usage if an error or fraud has been detected. An immediate new account will be issued with the balance remaining intact.

Why we want you to be rich Two Men • One Message

With this new book, the age-old saying of: "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime," is explored as Trump and Kiyosaki teach you what they believe you need to know to be rich.

They each could have written a book on the subject, but they chose instead to write a book together because of their shared passion for education and their desire to bring emphasis to the importance of strong financial skills and understanding.

Money alone won't solve the problems we face. In referencing the need to "teach people to fish" and preparing them to create solutions to the challenges we face as a nation, versus simply giving people fish and keeping them dependant upon others for their sustenance – Donald and Robert focus on why and how people can take action in their lives and contribute to solutions as opposed to magnifying the problems.

Holiday Gift Giving on a Budget

Trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on your holiday list can be time-consuming, frustrating, and expensive. Many people find that this experience causes them to overspend their holiday budget - assuming they were prudent enough to set a budget limit in the first place. Unfortunately for some, the only budget limit they set is the limit on their credit cards and the holiday shopping only ends when this limit is reached. The holidays don’t have to be a time to go into debt. With a little bit of planning, you can take advantage of some easy, low-cost ways to spread the holiday cheer this season.

Use Your Special Talents

Take an inventory of your basic talents and skills to see which ones you could put to use to create holiday gifts. Most people would appreciate a gift that someone put time and effort into and personally make for them as opposed to something purchased at the mall. With an investment of just a few dollars for ingredients or materials and some basic skills you could:

  • Use your cooking skills to bake some holiday themed cookies.
  • Use your knitting talent to create a scarf, mittens, or a hat.
  • Use your scrap booking skills to make an album of special photos.
  • Use your craft talents to make a holiday wreath.
  • Use your handyman skills to complete household repairs for someone.

The possibilities for low-budget gift giving are endless if you have a hobby or basic skill that you are willing to share with others.

Not so Talented?

If you are still searching for your special talents, don’t despair, there are plenty of thoughtful low-cost ways to create meaningful holiday gifts. You can find lots of ideas by visiting Internet sites like: www.ivillage.com, www.familyfun.com, or www.diynetwork.com. Some simple ideas that don’t require a lot of talent and allow you to stretch individual packages of items amongst several gift recipients would be:

  • Get some inexpensive decorative tins from a Dollar store or discount store and divide packages of store bought cookies to fill them.
  • Buy some mason jars with screw-on lids and fill them with ingredients to make a batch of tasty cookies. Print the recipe out on a gift tag or index card and tie on with a ribbon.
  • Wrap some chocolates in colored plastic wrap (usually available around the holidays) and tie with a festive ribbon and a candy cane.

Use your imagination and you can probably come up with a number of ideas that won’t cost a lot of money or take a lot of time especially if you assemble your gifts all at one time.

Give the Gift of Time – Your Time

Another easy way to manage your holiday budget is to give the gift of time. Offer to do a specific chore for someone, or better yet, make them a coupon or certificate you can present to them in place of a store-bought gift.

Some ideas could be:
  • Make a home-cooked meal
  • Do a week’s worth of laundry
  • Clean their house
  • Wash their car
  • Do an afternoon of yard work
  • Baby-sit their kids

You can tailor the offer to the gift recipients needs and if you know them well, you should have a pretty good idea of what offer would be most appreciated. Have fun with it!

Come to a Family Consensus

In addition to utilizing some of these inexpensive gift ideas, you can also consider discussing cost-saving strategies with family members such as:

  • Setting a spending limit on individual gifts.
  • Doing a gift exchange, where you each draw a name out of a hat, instead of exchanging individual gifts with each family member.
  • Going in together on a family gift, like a season pass to a pool, amusement park, zoo, or state park.

By getting the whole family to agree on some gift-giving guidelines, everyone can save money, and no one will be disappointed because they had other expectations.

Don’t Forget the Less Fortunate

The holidays are also a good time of year to evaluate and rid yourself of things you no longer need but could be useful to others. If you donate them to a non-profit charity like Goodwill or the Salvation Army, it’s also a good idea to get a receipt, because you can deduct the value of the donation when you do your taxes. You’ll probably not only feel good about de-cluttering your home, but you just might brighten someone else’s holiday. So take some time to:

  • Go through your closets, and drawers to look for clothes you no longer wear.
  • Get your kids involved and find toys they’re no longer interested in.
  • Clean out your basement, garage, and storage areas.

While you are going through this process, you may even find some valuable items you are no longer using that you could sell on EBay or through your community newspaper, like the Penny Saver or Thrifty Nickel, to make some extra money to use for the holidays.
The holidays should be an occasion to celebrate and enjoy time with family friends. Don’t let a tight budget turn it into a stressful occasion instead. Take some time this year to plan your gift giving to keep it within your budget. With a little bit of time, effort, and creativity you can spread a little holiday cheer without spending a lot!
